It was a bright sunny day down at the Atherstone pitch. The game started off evenly and then a promising counter attack swiftly turned into the Atherstone Ladies first goal. Jaimie drove it down the line passing it to Emma and then Sophie ran onto the post getting the goal. After some hard pressing the Adders were rewarded with their second goal. Winning the ball and pressing high Nads crossed it to Emma and Sophie slid it in leaving the score 2:0 in the Adders favour at half time.
After the half time jelly babies the Adders were ready for the second half. Eddie had some wise words to encourage us to go for a win, at least 3 or 4-0. Atherstone ladies dominated the start of second half. Jaimie passed to Kayleigh at the top of the D who smashed it into the bottom left corner. Very swiftly after Kayleigh took the half time message of being comfortable at 3 or 4 -0 up to heart .She scored from a short corner that she won with a skilful knock of the ball onto the oppositions foot. It was now 4-0!
The rest of the game the Adders defended solidly apart from Alice who wanted to play football in the D. Fortunately the Adders successfully defended 5 consecutive short corners that ended with Liv putting the ball on the oppositions foot. It was scrappy play for the remainder of the game but the Adders held their own and finished the match 4-0.
MoM - went to Alex for amazing line ball passes and great defensive skills.
DoD - initially went to Jodie for breaking toilet seat, but then went to Sophie as she was the true culprit! This was unsurprising considering she initially believed we played Nuneaton, then thought it was Nottingham before final realising we played against Loughborough Town an hour after the game finished.
