Adders Badgers travelled to Leamington White this week and were rewarded with an excellent draw against all the odds.
The day started gloomily as the young Adders wearily donned the ever - unpopular yellow bibs - an extra layer just to add to the heat of the day.
The Badgers welcomed Ray Small back in goal and Connie Barden made her league debut for the Badgers. Connie marked it in fine style defending really well against some very experienced opposition.
Captain Felix Roberts led by example and organised his defence from the start - soaking up a lot of pressure, including many short corners, which meant the frustrated Leamington forwards just could not break through.
By half time though Leamington's efforts were rewarded as they finally found the back of the net to go one goal up.
The Adders forwards though did not sit back and constantly pressured with both Ashton Azzopardi and Jack Hobbs unlucky not to score.
Andrew Currie and Will Maynes in midfield worked tirelessly in the heat and the Adders piled on the pressure, desperate to score an equaliser.
The game was fought well by both sides from the first to last whistle .....and beyond!
Just when the spectators thought it was all over a short corner was awarded to Atherstone and then the final whistle blew.
For a few seconds heads dropped as some thought the game was lost not realising the short corner was still to be completed. Up stepped Julian Roberts to calmly seal the well earned draw and his own player of the match award by slotting away a well taken short corner routine (thanks to the coaching team for all those practices in training!).

The crowd went wild ( well half of them at least) and now we look forward to wearing our lucky yellow bibs with pride!
