The Badgers put up a gutsy performance against a well drilled Rugby and EW Blue team. Adders defenders stood strong against considerable early pressure including several short corners but Rugby were first to finally get on the score-sheet.
Atherstone fought back with a fine solo run by Ethan Connor down the right , along the bye-line and neatly slotted away to level the scores at 1:1.
In the second half Atherstone struggled to hold back the tide as the Rugby midfield and forwards dominated and linked up to take their chances well. A runaway final score-line of 6:1 did not really reflect the hard work and effort by the young Adders. Lots to work on at training but a very promising first outing.
