Atherstone Town Council has launched it's inaugural Ruby Chambers Young Person's Sports Award created to recognise the achievements of the town's young sporting talent.

The award is being given in memory of the late Councillor Ruby Chambers who was Town Mayor in 2009 and who dedicated much of her life to furthering opportunities for young and disadvantaged members of the community.

The award will be given to a young person aged Under 18 from the Atherstone community who embodies the spirit of determination, persistence and sporting achievement. Nominations on their behalf should be made by 31st December 2021 by writing to the council to Town Council at: clerk@atherstone-tc.gov.uk, or post your nominations to PO Box 2000, Atherstone, CV9 1YN.
