Nominate our clubs stars and hidden heroes

Those that go the extra mile or inspire others to try harder, be the best and be a true Adder.

Atherstone Adders Sports Awards are an opportunity for the Club to celebrate its achievements in sport and to recognise outstanding contributions to the Club socially, competitively and voluntarily or any combination of the three. To receive an award, fully paid up Club Members will need to be nominated annually and then the nomination will be considered by a Judging Panel. Take a look here as the Club attempts to provide a clear, transparent and unequivocal statement of what why awards are made, what for and by what means.

Judging
For Honorary Membership, Full and Half Colours, the judging panel will consist of the Club Chairman, Club Captain and Club Secretary who will make a decision based on the submissions.

Awards Distribution
Awards will be presented annually at the End of Season Presentation Evening.

Nominations for the 2023-24 season are now open until Friday 29th March 2024

What are the Awards:

HONORARY LIFE MEMBERSHIP
The highest accolade that can be achieved by and individual within the Club is that of a Honorary Life Membership. Honorary Life Membership in Atherstone Adders Hockey Club is intended to recognize continuous outstanding service in any area to the Club. Any playing or former player who is a member of Atherstone Adders Hockey Club and has made continuous valuable contributions to the Club over a long period of time is eligible for nomination.

The award of Honorary Life Membership is the highest honour the Atherstone Adders Hockey Club can bestow on an individual and is done so in recognition of a member who has made an extraordinary contribution to the Atherstone Adders Hockey Club over a number of years that is above and beyond what is expected of any member.

The Atherstone Adders Hockey Club may bestow Honorary Life Membership on an individual who demonstrates constant commitment to the club’s purpose and values. The Honorary Life Member will have given an extraordinary contribution in areas of club involvement such as a player, coach, administrator, volunteer or in other positions.

Considerations
• The Club Member has been a regular player for 15 years or more
• The Club Member has been an active member of the Management Committee
• The Club Member has been an Appointed Team Coach for 5 years or more
• The Club Member has been an Appointed Team Manager for 5 years or more
• The Club Member has been a Significant Volunteer for 5 years or more
• The Club Member has been a Member for 10 years or more

The Award
• Recognition on the Clubs Honours Board in the Clubhouse and on the Club website.

SPORTING COLOURS
Sporting Colours can be awarded to any Club Member. The award of colours should be the ultimate accolade for any member of Atherstone Adders Hockey Club. It should be the goal that they strive for and a successful motivational tool. Colours will neither be given lightly nor expected.

To qualify for the award of Club Colours, a fully paid up Club Member needs to have demonstrated an outstanding contribution to Atherstone Adders Hockey Club.

Any Club Member (apart from a Family Member) may nominate a player for Sporting Colours who has played hockey regularly for Atherstone Adders Hockey Club.

Considerations
• The Club Member has provided outstanding contribution to the running, administration, operation and activity of the club for at least 5 years.
• The Club Member has shown outstanding loyalty, commitment, support and dedication for at least 5 years as a member of Atherstone Adders Hockey Club
• The Club Member has shown playing commitment to the Club throughout their career.
• The Club Member has shown good leadership skills and qualities.
• The Club Member has shown great ability to work together well with their peers in a team context than might otherwise be expected.
• The player has shown high levels of dedication and determination to succeed as an individual within their team.
• The Club Member has set an exceptional example and has been a good ‘role model' for the rest of the players in the team.
• The Club Member has to have been consistently highly motivated and shown a positive attitude towards their sport in both training and in matches.

The Award
• The award will comprise of a special limited edition commemorative badge and a certificate.
• Recognition on the Clubs Honours Board in the Clubhouse and on the Club website.

HALF COLOURS
Half Colours will be only be available for those aged 17 or less. Any Club Member (apart from a Family Member) may nominate a player who has played regularly for Atherstone Adders Hockey Club.

To qualify for the award of Club Colours, a fully paid up Club Member needs to have demonstrated an outstanding contribution to Atherstone Adders Hockey Club.

Considerations
• The player is an outstanding team captain.
• The player has gone over and above what is required as a junior member
• The player has made a huge contribution to the Club.
• The player has shown particular commitment to the Club throughout their time with the Club.
• The player has shown the qualities of responsibility and leadership.
• The player has shown greater ability to work together well with their peers in a team context than might otherwise be expected.
• The player has shown high levels of dedication and determination to succeed as an individual within their team.
• The player has set an exceptional example and has been a good ‘role model' for the rest of the players in the team.
• The player has been consistently highly motivated and shown a positive attitude towards training and matches by playing regularly and attending training.

The Award
• The award will comprise of a special limited commemorative badge and a certificate.
• Recognition on the Clubs Honours Board in the Clubhouse and on the Club website.
