The Adders turned out in force for the Interclub fixture on 13 December, making for a fantastic morning of hockey. It was great to see players of all ages taking to the pitch, with both experience and youth on display as skills were shown across the field.
The match was tightly contested, with defences on top and chances at a premium. The score remained locked at 0–0 right through to the final quarter. However, the deadlock was finally broken when the Yellow bibs’ defenders decided to take an adventurous run up the pitch to see what was happening in attack. That momentary lapse at the back proved costly, gifting the Reds three excellent shooting opportunities.
Despite the valiant efforts of the Yellow keeper, being left with just one defender meant they were outnumbered and outgunned, and the Reds capitalised to secure the goals.
Overall, it was a great morning’s hockey and particularly encouraging to see the talent coming through from the Badgers.
Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year. See you all in the new year!
