The Club confirms that it has taken the difficult decision to withdraw its Men’s 5s Development team from the Midlands Hockey League.

While this decision may come as little surprise given recent events, it has not been taken lightly. Ongoing challenges relating to player numbers and availability across the Club’s male playing section have ultimately dictated this course of action. In recent weeks, the late cancellation of fixtures has been deeply regrettable and has caused disruption for our own members, opposition clubs, and the League.

Our primary concern is the impact on those players currently involved with the Men’s 5s Development team. With this in mind, Joseph and Eddie will be speaking with players on an individual basis to discuss available options. It is hoped that suitable alternative playing opportunities can be identified for those affected.

Looking ahead, the Committee recognises the importance of player development and will be holding a series of discussions to explore a range of options aimed at widening opportunities for future players within the Club.
